# How to Calculate The Quantity of 1.8cm PP Interlocking Garage Floor Grates For Your Car Wash & Detailing Shop
If you plan to renovate your car wash bay, auto detailing workshop or 4S service area with 1.8cm PP interlocking garage floor grates, accurate quantity calculation is the first critical step to avoid over-ordering or material shortage.
Our interlocking PP floor grate is 400×400mm, 18mm thickness, made of 100% virgin PP raw material. It features fast drainage, anti-slip surface and heavy load capacity, widely used in commercial car wash stations, garage, warehouse and auto show floors.
## Step 1: Measure your floor area
Measure the length and width of each washing bay. Multiply length × width to get total square meters.
Example: One wash bay 6m × 4m = 24 ㎡.
## Step 2: Convert to tile quantity
Each single tile: 0.4m ×0.4m =0.16 ㎡ per piece.
Total tiles = total area ÷0.16.
Add 5%~8% extra tiles for cutting waste and future replacement.
## Step3: Special space adjustment
For corners, drain channels, pillar positions, reserve extra tiles for cutting. For irregular shaped bays, we suggest you send your floor drawing to our team for free layout suggestion.
## Why choose our 1.8cm PP interlocking floor grate
✅ 100% virgin PP, anti-aging, resist car wash chemical detergent
✅ Hollow grate design for fast water drainage, no standing water
✅ Interlock snap-in installation, no glue, no cement
✅ Removable for cleaning and maintenance
✅ Heavy bearing, support cars and light trucks
Many car wash owners make the mistake of ordering only the exact area number without spare tiles. When you cut tiles for corners, you will run short of stock and delay your renovation project.
